Spencer Model 1865 repeating carbine, .56-50 cal., 19" barrel, blue and case hardened finish, serial #1141. The barrel shows 75-85% arsenal blue finish evenly starting to drift and tone with some just minorspotting, light erosion and normal aging. The frame, saddle ring bar, lockplate, hammer and lever show 15-30% original case hardening, drifting to silvery gray patina with some good colors on the lockplate. Theaction is good, the bore is near fine and still bright, the inside of the action shows bright case hardening. The stocks are good with a small inspectors stamp E A W on the top of the comb by the butt plate. The buttplate shows 10-20% case hardening, an original magazine tube is included. The Model 1865 marking on barrel is sharp, the address on the frame is slightly weak due to being re-issued by arsenal. A favoriteIndian War era carbine that started life in the Civil War.
