Spectacular and Attractive Silver Banded Henry Deringer Philadelphia Percussion Pistol

Estimate: $7000 - 9000
German silver blade front and notch rear sights, marked "P" flanked with zig-zags on the upper left flat, scroll engraving on the tang and a fine "bronzed" streak pattern on the barrel. This streaking was a signature feature of the original Deringer Pocket Pistol, which is frequently lost to age, wear and the elements, leaving strong examples scarce. Scroll engraving is also present on the hammer and lock, the latter bearing the "DERINGER/PHILADELA" address, and a burst pattern on the bolster. The checkered pistol grip stock is outfitted with scroll engraved German silver furniture, with a brass-shod wooden ramrod/cleaning rod, "7" on the rear trigger guard finial, and a floral-pattern engraved patch box lid on the butt.
