Special Order Winchester Model 1892 Lever Action Rifle
Manufactured in 1907, this Model 1892 rifle has a special order 24 inch half-octagon barrel button magazine, and double set triggers. Lyman blade front sight, adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sporting sight and short range tang mounted peep sight. The top barrel flat is marked with the standard two line address/patent marking ahead of the rear sight and marked with the Winchester oval proof followed by "32 W.C.F.". The oval proof is also marked on the top of the receiver ring and the serial number on the bottom of the receiver. Mounted on a smooth varnished walnut forearm with a steel forend cap and straight grip stock with a steel crescent buttplate.

Condition: Very fine. The barrel retains 90% original finish with some thinning to brown, a few minor scratches and a small area of touched up minor pitting. The receiver retains 70% original finish with areas of smooth brown patina. The buttplate has a smooth dark patina. The lever and hammer retain 60% of the original case colors with a smooth mottled gray patina on the underside and loop of the lever. The wood is very fine with some minor crazing of the finish on the stock and overall minor dings and dents. The markings are clear and crisp. The action is excellent.
