Spear point European pole arm or lance with lightly engraved blade circa 15th to 17th century mounted on hand carved pole. The head measures 25” from tip to end with the blade portion measuring 14.25” x 1 ¾” wide at the widest point at theback. The blade is nicely forged and formed with ridges and blood grooves. The blade portion is in good condition for its age with some light to moderate pitting and erosion and strong evidence of light engraving on both sides. The pole issecured by three forged rivets. There is not enough decoration or construction characteristics to determine the area or origin on this pole arm other than it is European. However we feel it is either Italian or Spanish. The weapon now measures 8” including 6 1/2 shaft. For shipment we suggest cutting the pole in half and rejoining it. Est.: $750-$1500
