Spanish Miquelet flintlock pistol of officer’s style from Spanish colonial era with lock marked Domingo Gabiola. The barrel shows gold poincons and makers stamp in Spanish style with crown that is not quite legible. The pistol measures 14”overall with 7 ½” barrel of approximately .69 caliber smooth bore showing two-stage barrel with ringed cannon type muzzle. The mounts are lightly engraved and the barrel shows traces of gold and a silver band. The wood is nicely checkered at thewrist and in good condition showing just slight normal aging. The metal surfaces show a dark patina with some pitting and minor erosion. The action works well. A horn tip ramrod which matches the fore end is retained. An attractive Spanishpistol from the early 19th century when Spain still maintained colonies in the New World and most of the Southwestern United States was still under Spanish rule. Est.: $1250-$2500
