Spanish Miquelet Flintlock Rail gun with flared iron cannon barrel and bracket for mounting, circa late 18th to early 19th century. The stock shows an anchor stamp “M.V.H.” near the trigger guard. Thebracket, pin and socket are all numbered “10”. The gun measures 41-1/2” in length with 24” barrel which measures 4-1/16” across the center of the flared barrel, approx 2-1/2” bore. The metal surfaces show a darkpatina with light to slightly heavy pitting and erosion but are generally good. The stock is good with a split in the butt repaired with an old iron nail. Some minor losses, marks, normal Military use. We would rate the stock at good. A massive rod of correct style and age is included. The gun weighs approx. 21.5lbs.
