For your consideration is a rare, Soil Erosion Service of the US Department of Interior porcelain sign, circa 1930's. The Soil Erosion Service was created in 1933 to address soil conservation concerns. It was housed in the US Department of Interior and transferred to Department of Agriculture in 1935. The SES trained soil scientists worked directly with farmers and provided equipment, labor, and technical assistance. This sign shows the crest symbol in the center and is yellow with green text reading "Keep Soil and Water on the Farm" at the top and in large green letters "Cooperator with the Soil Erosion Service" around the crest. The sign itself is crest shaped, and it is outlined by a green line and has five grommet holes. This piece is very well preserved show very little sign of fading or peeling for it's age. It measures approximately 14" x 15"
