Smith & Wesson Revolving Rifle based on No. 3 single action design in .320 caliber with 18” barrel and original shoulder stock in its period canvas covered case. The revolver is in “out of the attic” condition showingconsiderable blue mixed with a brown patina with some erosion and light pitting, much of which may clean. The edges are fairly sharp, the barrel address is good. The original sights are retained. The bore is bright andnear excellent. The mottled red colored stocks are very good other than the right grip which 1/3 has broken away and is missing. The action is cocking but not locking and out of time. The back of thehammer shows case hardening and the fore end is crisp with logo on bottom. The original shoulder stock shows matching metal and very good wood with correct butt plate. The case has lost its partitions and the lining &exterior are both slightly rough. The serial numbers are not legible due to rust and pitting with only two digits legible (96). A definite restoration candidate as mint examples have fetched up to $100,000 just
