The initial run of the Model 2 is only one of five variations, recognized by its cylinder drag on the back of the cylinder, and the odd side-plate. The revolver additionally utilizes a 3 1/4" round barrel, nickel finish, hard rubber "S&W" monogram grips, top-break operation, and a fine double action trigger. The revolver is marked in numerous places, reading; ""SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS.U.S.A.PAT'DJAN.17 & 24 65 - JULY 11. 65. AUG. 24.69. When shot on single action however, the hammer fails to fall to full cock. The revolver manufactured in 1880 qualifies as an Antique Hand Gun, and does NOT require FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check. Serial Number: 2695.
