For your consideration in this lot is a Smith & Wesson Model 1 Third Issue, bottom break revolver, chambered for .22 short. The pistol utilizes an excellent nickel finish, rosewood grips, 7-shot cylinder, and a checkered hammer and trigger. he Smith & Wesson Model 1 was the first firearm manufactured by Smith & Wesson, with production spanning the years 1857 through 1882. It was the first commercially successful revolver to use rimfire cartridges instead of loose powder, musket ball, and percussion caps. The revolver shows very good condition, with exceptional finish retention, and a fantastic action, which is in good time, and has a tight cylinder lock-up. This third issue originates from 1868 to 1882, and qualifies as an Antique Handgun, and does not require FFL Transfer or NICS background Check. Serial Number: 93954.
