Smith & Wesson Chiefs special .38 special caliber double action revolver with 2” barrel, blued finish, simulated pearl grips, right side of frame inscribed “To Bob Hope With Deepest Appreciation, M. B. Police & Firemen’s Assn., Feb. 19, 1967”.Wired to and displayed in a shadowbox which was originally in Mr. Bob Hope’s home in Toluca Lake California. The pistol is in very good plus to near fine condition showing some coloration and aging to the blue with no evidence of firing anduse just blue age from lack of oil. Should be further researched and we believe the location was Miami Beach, FL. serial number 521879 on the butt. A letter on Miami Beach Police and Fireman’s Association letter head is dated May 15th,1967presents this Smith & Wesson to Mr. hope and recants the all-star cast including Frank Sanatra, Don Rickles, Totie Fields to name a few of the 23 acts and that the monies collected would be used to aid children, little leagues and wounded police officers. The letter is signed Phillip L. Rosenthal Chairman of the all-star show. A certificate of authenticity stating that this exact pistol is from the estate of legendary performer Bob Hope is included.
