Smith & Wesson .44 Double Action Frontier top break revolver, .44-40 cal., 6” barrel, nickel finish, checkered black hard rubber grips, #8109. This gun is in overall very good condition showing traces of originalfinish in protected areas with balance gone to a grey patina with some scattered erosion and pin prick pitting, very good bore, crisp action, sharp markings, correct 1-9/16” cylinder to accept the .44-40 calibercartridge, very good grips; all matching visible serial numbers. Accompanied by a factory letter dated 1991 indicating this serial number gun was shipped from the factory on November 20, 1893 and delivered to Schoverling, Dale & Gale, 302 Broadway St., New York City.
