Smith & Wesson 1st model double-action .38 S&W revolver, period scroll engraved, 3-1/2” barrel, nickel finish, ivory grips, serial #48210. The revolver shows 60-70% original nickel that is evenly drifting and toningwith some erosion and pitting where the nickel has lifted. The ivory grips are very good plus, fit impeccably, and show a great patina. The markings are sharp, edges crisp, triggerguard shows most of its blue. Thehammer and trigger show bright case hardening. The action is good, bore fair to good. The revolver is completely uncleaned and unpolished in modern times. The engraving is a combination of standard scroll andpinprick type similar to M&H. Est: $600 - $1,200
