Smith & Wesson 1st model American, .44 caliber single-action revolver, 8” barrel, blue finish, wood grips, transition range, serial #6319. The revolver shows 30-50% original blue evenly drifting and toning with good sharp edges, crisp barrel address, some minor scratches, just beginning light erosion and pinprick pitting. The hammer and triggerguard show traces of original case hardening, there is some bright blue inprotected areas. The grips fit impeccably, and show some stripping or light cleaning with steel wool but are at least very good. The action is tight, the bore bright and very good plus. The interior of the frame showsconsiderable blue. A far better than average early frontier era American model Smith & Wesson. Est: $3,500 - $7,000
