Handmade by a crafted blacksmith, even a key that may or may not work but turns in the display as it should. 4" diameter, well constructed hinge, no signature or makers marking visible. Logic would say its Southern, probably Virginia but it could have come from anywhere. Probably second or early third quarter 19th Century.

Fourth: Shipping. We will try and work with you on shipping. On small objects, we can pack them here with bubble wrap and UPS ship to you. Be forewarned, UPS charges extra to deliver to residences , and now with fuel charges up, surcharges are in effect. If is not possible to quote an exact rate until the item or items are boxed and weighed, or dimensional weight is determined. We will be glad to take a guess as to shipping, but no guarantees can be made that this will be the final amount.
