Early and charming quilled tobacco bag on fine native tanned hide, in typical elongated form. Both sides feature a red quilled panel with 2 quilled yellow horse heads on each side. Quill-wrapped hide drops affixed to one side. Top opening and side decorated with quillwork. Lower panel decorated with tin cones stuffed with red dyed feathers, long quill wrapped slatted panel in yellows, white and orange, finished with long fringe. 5 ½” wide x 38” long including fringe. Circa 1870s.
