Sioux Fully Beaded Horse Headstall c. 1950-60's
This is a fully beaded parade horse headstall from the Sioux Native American Indians that dates to circa 1950’s to 1960’s. The headstall shows a tanned blonde hide/leather which is covered in a geometric pattern in glass trade pony beads. The beadworks shows a linear geometric pattern in sky padre blue, medium green, corn yellow and red. The piece was made by the same Sioux individual as the previous two lots, the parade saddle and martingale. The piece arrived from the Hungry Horse, Montana American Indian collection (the parade saddle comes with an old collection / gallery tag which stated, “’01 $4,200 1950’s Vintage Sioux Beaded Parade Saddle – 39-X” which was original listed with this piece, but is not included as the three pieces are separated for your collecting convenience). The piece is in very good condition with little to no bead loss and supple leather. Measures overall 23.5”L by 15”W.
