The lot features a wonderfully beaded Warrior’s Leggings from the Sioux Native American Indians of the 20th Century. The leggings, or pants would have been worn with the previously listed War Shirt. The leggings show an Indian tanned hide construction with long impressive cut fringe framing the outsides of the legs. Theses also show long beaded strips with a geometric traditional pattern showing glass trade seed beads in chalk white, semi-transparent amber, semi-transparent dark green, dark blue, and red. The Indian tanned hide shows a wonderful pigment dyed patina and very good condition. The leggings are in the same design and stylings of the coup staff, war shirt, headdress, moccasins, and breechclout (with each being sold separately). These were all displayed on the Indian mannequin sold after these pieces. The pants measure approximately 39 1/2" wide, and 46" tall. The entire ensemble was purchased for over $12,500 by the current Paradise Valley Livingston, Montana private Early American Artifact Collection.
