For bidding in this lot are beaded Sioux Native American Indian strike-a-lite bag, and medicine pouch. The srike-a-lite bag is fully beaded on the front side with chalk white, sky blue, cobalt blue, and blood red trade seed beads in a geometric pattern. It is further decorated with long cut tanned hide fringe, and rolled tin jingle cones. The medicine bag is also decorated with trade seed beads on the lower 1/3, as well as on the border. The tanned hide bag shows a central medallion, with greasy yellow, corn yellow, sky blue, chalk white, translucent medium green, cobalt blue, and blood red. The medicine bag is also adorned with long cut tanned hide fringe, and rolled jingle cones. The lot originates from the mid-late 1900's and shows good condition, with no apparent bead loss. The bags are displayed in wooden riker cases, lined with red decorative felt. Each riker case measures 18 1/8" long, 12" deep, and 2" thick.
