Silver Linings Hemmingway Book Prop
Pat (Bradley Cooper) is not doing well, when he's released to his parents, (Robert De Niro and Jacki Weaver) after serving many months in a mental institution for extreme anger management problems. The first night together does not go well, when Pat reads Hemmingway's "A Farewell To Arms", and at 4:00 in the morning, violently throws the book out the second story window, then goes into his parents bedroom to scream about the books ending, and how he must now apologize to the world in behalf of Hemmingway! (De Niro has a great line when he says: "it's four in the morning, have Hemmingway call us and apologize to us to!). The scene is key to the story, so much so, that the throwing of the book out the window is the opening for the official trailer of the movie. This is that hero screen used "thrown away" book that Pat read. It is Ernest Hemingway's "A Farewell to Arms' hardcover book from the Township (the town in the movie) Public Library. (approx. 8" x 5 1/2").
