In 1863, Nathaniel and John Curry inherited their father's business. They operated as wholesalers and agents until 1886, when they sold the firm to Charles Ladd. German silver blade front and notch rear sights, with a "P" and "DERINGER/PHILADELA'' on the breech between silver bands, and "N.CURRY & BRo/SAN FRANCo CALa/AGENTS" on the top flat of the barrel. The Derringer marking is repeated on the lock, with scroll engraving on the tang, hammer, lock, trigger guard, reverse and accent pates, blossom designs on the escutcheons, pineapple finial and straight borders on the inscription shield and buttplate. Checkered stock, with a smooth triangular tip inlay and a bird's head butt.

Condition: Good, showing hints of the original brown finish on the barrel, with a mixed gray patina, mild spotting and handling marks. Some original case color is visible on the lock plate under the hammer, with the remainder having turned a dark gray. Stock is fair as refinished, with a 3/4 inch section absent the right side of the grip, minor chipping and cracks. Mechanically good.
