Inheriting the business of Charles Curry, their father, in 1863, Nathaniel and John Curry operated as wholesalers and agents until 1886, when they sold the firm to Charles Ladd. German silver blade front and notch rear sights, with a zig-zag flanked "P" on the left side of the breech, "DERINGER/PHILADELA'' on top and "N.CURRY & BRo/SAN FRANCo CALa/ AGENTS" on the top flat of the barrel. The Deringer marking is repeated on the lock, with scroll engraving on the tang, hammer, lock, German silver trigger guard, shield escutcheon, reverse and accent pates. There are blossom designs on the escutcheons, with a zig-zag bordered buttplate and a pineapple finial. The checkered stock has a silver wedge inlay in the tip, and terminates in a rounded bird's head grip.
