Thomas (Tommy) Singer (born 1940 - May 31, 2014)
He is one of the most regarded silversmiths in Navajo history having created the ‘CHIP INLAY’ an intricate use of turquoise and coral chips integrated in to the silver work. This method made Mr. Singer famous world around in the 60’s. He is known for his overlay work, storyteller pieces, rug patterns and traditional motifs.
Size 7.75 Zuni oval inlay ring is intricately inlaid with mother-of-pearl, malachite, turquoise, coral and jet. In the center of the oval is a diamond shaped piece of mother-of-pearl surrounded with geometric shapes of malachite, turquoise, coral and jet. The inlay measures 24.4 mm x 17.6 mm and the overall ring measures 27.3 mm x 21.5 mm. The ring weighs 23.2 g and is stamp sterling, S.B. (Shirley Baca's hallmark) and on the other end of the ring is Elliot Qualo's (single stamp deer antler struck twice hallmark)
