Sharps patent .30 caliber rimfire pepperbox derringer by Tipping & Lauden, serial #1177. Finely English scroll engraved with floral accents and floral gutta percha grips in fine to excellent condition. Contained within its original box with rare agents marking beautifully engraved on barrel, “H. Holland 98 New Bond St. London”. The barrels show 95-98% original English blue finish, the frame shows 20-30% darkened original silverwith a light patina where the silver has lifted. The hammer, spring, firing pin and trigger show bright original finish, with bright case hardening on hammer. The grips are very good plus with slight edge wear. The markings are all sharp and crisp and the action works well. The pistol is contained within its original to the period green baize or felt-lined case with cleaning rod and rimfire cartridges. The lid shows evidence of a label that has been removed. The exterior of the case is veneered burl, showing some cracking and normal aging and is at least very good.
