S/N 200243, .44/70 caliber, 30 inch octagon barrel, standard Lawrence barrel sight, front sight has blade replaced during period of use, double set triggers, sporting crescent butt plate, 1877.
Condition: bore is a little “soft”, rifling has lost the sharp edges, iron is “gun metal” gray overall, brass butt plate smooth mustard color, area of light pitting on left of receiver, butt stock is very good with use dings, forearm shows hard use (probably from carrying over a saddle), numerous dings on bottom and wood worn so that screws are a bit proud, small area re-attached with nails, bottom of barrel marked 4 10/16 pounds. Original serial number on barrel does not match the rifle but the last 3 digits of the receiver number have been added, probably reuse of a barrel at factory; hole has been “closed” on tang under serial number.

Provenance: From the Estate of Thomas W. Lorimer.
