Sharps Pistol or “Officer’s Model” single shot percussion rifle, .38 cal., 28” round barrel, blue and case hardened finish, wood stocks, circular patchbox, #272. This gun is in overall very good condition showing a heavy plum patina on the barrel with slight hints of original blue finish, traces of case color on the receiver with the balance gone to a dark patina; strong traces of case colors on the steel buttplate; ample silver finish remaining on the patchbox ; very good to fine bore, crisp action, very good to near fine wood stocks with some scattered mars and scratches from storage but considerable original finish remaining. This highly desirable Sharps variation was manufactured in the late 1850’s and limited to an estimated 650 manufactured. Un-cleaned and the way collectors love to find them! Est.: $3,200-$5,200.
