Sharps New Model 1863 percussion rifle with bayonet and scabbard with leather hanger, .52 cal., 30” round barrel, blue and case hardened finish, wood stocks, #C35844. This gun is in out-of-the-attic untouchedcondition showing traces of blue mixed with a plum brown patina on barrel, receiver has gone to a silvery color with scattered spots of erosion; bore is overall fair to good; action is good; the fore stock is worn andshows old repairs to a crack that was repaired with old iron brads; the butt stock is fair to good with numerous nicks and mars from carry and storage, some losses and mounted with an iron patchbox; two partiallyvisible inspector cartouches are present on the right side of the front portion of the butt stock; both sling swivels are present and the patchbox contains an old lead bullet and an old extra nipple; socket bayonet isalso untouched and in overall fair condition with leather scabbard and hanger that are dry from age and show some flaking; brass scabbard tip remains; If only this one could talk!
