Sharps Model 1874 rifle, .45 cal., 30” octagon barrel, brown and case hardened finish, checkered semi-pistol grip butt stock with checkered forend; checkered steel shotgun butt plate, checkered single trigger, vernier tang sight, #15_687 onupper tang under sight. This gun is in overall good condition showing an old brown finish applied to the barrel; traces of original case colors on the receiver with some silvery toning, action is working in a one click format; fair bore that mayclean to good with visible rifling; wood stocks show better than usual graining with old crack at wrist area in checkering and a hairline crack further back in the butt stock along the graining and into a burl knot on the left side; undersideof barrel also numbered 15 687 with three stylized “L”s stamped near the breech.
