Sharps & Hankins .52 caliber breech loading Civil War carbine with scarce 19” barrel. Sometimes identified as 11th New York Cavalry model, serial #47. Refer Flayderman 5F-094. The carbine remains in original good to verygood condition showing approx. 20-40% original blue and case hardening drifting to a natural patina. Good markings, good edges, generally good metal surfaces. The stocks show a few minor dings, mars, scratches. Thecarbine shows no inspector’s marks, generally crisp overall with fair bore and shows strong rifling, some pitting. The carbine shows a brass buttplate. Dr. Sterling Fenn collection.
