Sharps .50-70 caliber arsenal converted carbine in very good original condition, serial #72197. The carbine shows approx. 75-85% original blue on barrel evenly drifting and toning with some light erosionjust starting. The frame shows 40-60% case hardening drifting and dulling to grey with some light areas of colors showing but are faint. The stocks are good to very good with some small dings, mars, scratches, gouges,etc, with a good cartouche at the center portion of left buttstock. The markings are sharp, all small parts retained, bore near excellent. These early cartridge conversions went West and more information is beinguncovered all the time, including use by Texas Rangers.
