Scarce and desirable Westley Richards single-barrel trap shotgun, 12ga, two-barrel set, contained in its original leather over oak English case with brass fittings and maker’s label in lid. Serial #09920. The gunshows a 32-1/4” barrel with raised ventilate trap type rib. The gun is fitted with a single trigger, automatic ejector, shows English style straight stock, oversize forend with horn cap, nicely engraved frame withscalloped action, stocked in nicely grained checkered walnut. The barrel shows 90-95% original blue toning nicely and slightly browning with good sharp markings and edges. The frame has drifted to mostly grey withsome traces of case hardening and well defined tight scroll engraving. The bottom of the frame plate shows most of its original blue. The triggerguard shows 30-40% blue. The stocks are very good with crisp checkeringand just some normal slight scratches and use. The stock measures 14-1/8” to the end of the wood, 15” to the end of the hardrubber recoil pad which is fresh and newly added. The barrel interior is fine to excellent,
