Manufactured in 1884, this was the final revolver in the New Line series. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address and the acid etched panel ("NEW POLICE 38") on the left side. The left side of the frame is marked "38 CAL" and the serial number appears on the butt. Blade front and frame notch rear sights, smooth niter blue spur trigger and checkered hammer (with polished sides), niter blue screws, cylinder pin and release, "bulls eye" style ejector rod head, and fitted with black checkered hard rubber grips embossed with the "cop and thug" on the bottom and "COLT" in an oval at the top. Colt only manufactured approximately 4,000 New Police Revolvers from 1882 to 1886.
BBL: 4 1/2 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 38 CF
Finish: blue
Grips: hard rubber
Serial Number: 17383
Condition: Very good. The revolver retains 25% scattered original blue finish with a smooth mottled gray patina on the balance. The front sight is slightly modified on top.
