This is a rare find for the advanced German military collector. Few paintings of German officers remain from the World War II period as most were destroyed in 1945 to hide any association with the defeated Nazi party. This original painting is thought to be of Georg-Hans Reinhardt and is signed in the lower left corner "M. Kohler". Maxim Kohler is a well-known impressionist painter who was born in 1908 and died in 1959. Measures 35 1/2 inches tall x 29 1/2 inches wide.
