This is a scarce example of a PDM marked Walther PP semi-automatic pistol. The left side of the slide is stamped with the Walther banner, the two line legend and "Mod. PP." There are commercial "crown/N" proofs located on right side of the slide, chamber and barrel at the muzzle. The frame has the serial number stamped vertically on the right side and "PDM" stamped vertically over "250" on the left side. According to current collector interpretation, the "PDM" stand for "Polizie, Direktion Munchen (Munich Police Directorate) or area. The pistol has a high polish commercial blue finish and is fitted with checkered Walther banner grips. The all blue magazine has the Walther banner stamped on the left side. The pistol correctly falls into the serial number range (753,000-941,000) of the known examples of "PDM" marked PP pistols as observed by James Rankin (see WALTHER MODELS PP AND PPK, page 104).
