This is an excellent example of a 1940 dated Mauser Banner Police Luger pistol rig with the scarce "Eagle/C" Police proof. This "Eagle/C" Police proof was only used on Lugers for a couple of years, before they transitioned to the later "Eagle/L" proof. The top of the chamber area is stamped "1940" for the year of manufacture with the large Mauser/Banner logo on the front toggle. The early, "Eagle/C" Police proof is located on the right side of the receiver, with the Nazi "Eagle/N" Commercial proofmarks stamped on the left side of the receiver and the breechblock. The full serial number "1559x" is stamped on the front of the frame, with (1559) stamped and the left side of the barrel extension, but not on the underside of the barrel with the last two digits of the serial number (59) stamped on the various small parts. The pistol has a salt blue finish and checkered walnut grips. This beautiful Police Luger rig is complete with two original all blue matching Police magazines that are correctly marked on the pinned aluminum bases, "1/1559/x" and "2/1559/x". It is complete with beautiful brown leather holster that is marked on the back "Kern Klager & Cie/1940/BERLIN/Police Eagle proofmark.
BBL: 3 7/8 inch round
Stock:

Finish: blue
Grips: walnut checkered
Serial Number: 1559x
Condition: Excellent with 98% plus of the original blue finish with minor wear on the edges and high spots, such as the side plate hump, frame rails and stock lug. This Luger has all matching numbers to include both magazines as noted above. The grips are excellent with nice distinct original checkering on both sides, with some minor handling marks/light pressure dents. The holster is very fine showing only minor light scuffs and handling marks on the flap and magazine pouch with nice tight white stitching with clear sharp markings. Another exceptionally nice, early WWII Nazi Police Luger rig.
