Produced in 1889. Blade front and semi-buckhorn rear sights, with the 2-line address and patent markings and "22 LONG" marked atop the barrel, and "22 CAL./LONG." on the underside of the elevator. A Marble flip-up peep sight is installed on the upper tang, with the right receiver side plate properly lacking the loading gate, and the detachable 22 caliber magazine within the tube housing. Smooth straight grip stock, with a metal forearm tip and a curved steel buttplate. Most 22 caliber Model 1873 Rifles were manufactured with octagon barrels; 22 caliber rifles with round barrels are very scarce.
BBL: 24 inch round

Serial Number: 290621
Condition: Very fine, with 80% of the original blue finish, thin on the left side of the magazine with areas of a slight plum patina, minor scratches or wrench marks on the left side of the barrel between the rear sight and the receiver, and minor edge wear and handling marks overall. Casehardening is turning silver, with areas of strong pattern. Stock is very fine condition, with most of the original varnish finish and some scattered, minor, handling marks. This is a very fine example of a Winchester Third Model 1873 Rifle in caliber 22 Long with a scarce round barrel.
