Little is known about the U.S. issued Model 1903 Winchester, but most likely it was made for training, with notes from the consignor suggesting use by Army Air Corps crews who were to be issued Winchester 1907 rifles. Standard barrel markings, Winchester oval proof on the top of the barrel and receiver at the breech and "U S / ordnance bomb" on the top rear of the receiver (resembles marking on U.S. Winchester Winder .22 Muskets). Replacement blade front sight, standard elevation adjustable rear sight and mounted with a smooth forearm with steel end cap and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate.
BBL: 20 inch round
Stock: walnut
Gauge: 22 Auto
Finish: parkerized
Grips:
Serial Number: 86900
Condition: Arsenal refurbished. The rifle retains 80% of the parkerized finish with scattered thinning. The wood is also very good with the exception of a minor crack on the left rear of the forearm, there are some scattered minor dings and scratches. The markings remain crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
