This variant of the scarce Warner Carbine manufactured by the Greene Rifle Works. The carbine has a blade front sight and a single leaf rear sight graduated to 800 yards. The left side of the barrel at the breech has three British proofs and the number "38". British proofs are repeated on the brass frame and breechblock. The left side of the frame has a saddle bar with saddle ring and is marked "GREENE RIFLE WORKS/WORCHESTER, MASS./PAT. FEB. 1864". The serial number is located on the inside of the receiver and on the breech block and the unique manual slide extractor is located on the underside of the forearm. Smooth forearm and straight grip stock with "MM" marked brass buttplate.

Condition: Good. The barrel has a mottled gray patina with some scattered light pitting. The brass is bright with crisp markings. The revarnished wood is very good with a few minor handling marks.
