Manufactured between 1866-1870 with the top of the barrel marked with the naval anchor and standard Remington markings on the left side of the frame. Fixed notch front sight and rear sight is notched in the breechblock. With checkered hammer, breechblock, and smooth spur trigger.
BBL: 8 1/2 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 50 rimfire
Finish: blue/casehardened
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: 2527
Condition: Good as refinished with overall artificial brown finish remaining. The receiver has a shadow gray appearance overall. The grip and forearm are both good with some dents and scratches more around the butt end. The cartouche is lightly visible with letters not distinguishable. The markings are crisp. Mechanically excellent. This, nonetheless, is a solid representative example of a seldom encountered U.S. Military handgun.
