Formed by the Irwin family, furniture makers from Michigan and John Pederson, inventor of the Pederson Device, Irwin-Pederson produced approximately 150,000 M1 carbines before the Ordnance Department canceled their contract, making the Irwin-Pederson the most scarce of the M1 Carbines. Blade front and two leaf rear sights, with an Underwood "3-43" dated barrel, Type I band, flat bolt, "IP-W" push button safety, milled guard and "IP-W" magazine catch. High wood stock, with a 2-rivet hand guard, "RMC" in the sling cutout, green canvas sling and checkered buttplate.
BBL: 18 inch round
Stock: walnut
Gauge: 30 Carbine
Finish: parkerized
Grips:
Serial Number: 1774309
Condition: Very good, with traces of the weathered parkerized finish, showing wear along the edges, the start of a brown patina on the barrel, and gray on the receiver. "G" and "H" have been scratched into the side of the otherwise very good stock, with mild pressure dents and scratches. Mechanically excellent. Irwin Pedersen M1 Carbines are much sought after by collectors and are seldom encountered in any condition.
