This is an excellent example of a Lusso Model Semi-Automatic Shotgun manufactured by Cosmi in Italy. These are a custom built, made to order shotgun with only about 7,500 manufactured since 1925 with this particular shotgun being a deluxe (Lusso) model. The shotgun is semi-automatic with a top break action and 8 round magazine located in the buttstock. There is a single brass bead sight on the step vent rib barrel that gauges at improved modified choke. The upper left rear of the barrel is marked "BOEHLER (star) ANTINIT" and the upper left side of the action is marked "Mod. Lusso/COSMI-BREV." ANCONA-ITALY". The action is engraved with floral scroll and rose bouquet on all three sides with two ducks in flight on the underside of the receiver which is coin finished with the remaining parts, a highly polished blue that has a rich plum color. The floral engraving extends to the trigger guard, break lever and upper tang. Signed next to the trigger is script "Revera V.iro.". Mounted with a nicely figured multi-point checkered and serrated walnut forearm and a flat knob pistol grip stock with a checkered bare butt and sling swivels. Length of pull is 14 1/8 inches.

Serial Number: 5881
Condition: Excellent, there is a protective lacquer coating overall with 99% original blue finish and a few small scratches on the right side of the barrel. The coin finished parts remain bright with the engraving remaining sharp. The wood is very good with the same protective coating and a number of minor scratches and dings concentrated mostly on the buttstock, which needs additional fitting to the action, there is approximately an 1/8 inch space where the stock meets the action. Mechanically excellent.
