Manufactured from 1871 to 1888 this example is unembellished. Note that plain examples of this type of pistol are less encountered than engraved specimens. It is one of the few instances in American arms where engraved specimens are more commonly encountered than plain. The top barrel flat has the two line address and 1871 patent date marking. The magazine cap, hammer and breechblock are checkered. It is fitted with smooth grips.

Condition: Fine. The pistol retains 70% original nickel finish showing some polishing mostly in the frame area with scattered light flaking. The grips are very good with a cracked left panel and some minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
