This is the Japanese military pistol commonly called the "Papa" Nambu. Standard issue for Japanese Army and Navy officers. These were a continuation of the earlier Grandpa versions of the Nambu pistols, usually without any provisions for a shoulder stock. This pistol was produced under the Army contract and is so marked with the Kanji characters on the left side of the frame. The top of the receiver has the four intertwined cannon balls and the right side of the frame has the three Kanji characters signifying the "Koishikawa-Arsenal" over serial number "3350". This pistol has the smaller adjustable tangent rear sight, graduated from 1-5 with a fixed inverted "v" front side and the grip safety on the front grip strap. The grips are hardwood with a large checkered pattern and marked "3350" on the inside of each panel. It is complete with one nickel plated Papa magazine with the aluminum base and marked "5329" on the spine.
