Scarce James Warner Solid Frame Revolving Rifle
One of approximately 350 produced circa 1850s. Blade front and adjustable sporting rear (missing elevator) sights, with the serial number on the underside of the barrel, wood cleaning rod, and a loading lever. The top strap is marked "JAMES WARNER. SPRINGFIELD, MASS." and the cylinder is has 4 bands of dots with the 6 chambers numbered. Manually turned cylinder, with the release lever inside the finger rest trigger guard. Smooth straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate with a small storage compartment.

Condition: Very good. The rifle has a smooth partially refinished brown patina with some minor flash pitting and the cylinder has a couple of areas where the metal was grounded. There is some minor spotting on the buttplate. The ill-fitting varnished stock is good with some minor dents on the wrist (mostly on left side) and near the lower tang, along with some minor dings and scratches. Much of the varnish remains. Mechanically functions fine.
