Manufactured in 1863 with the four screw frame cut for a shoulder stock. The revolver has the capping groove with the one line New York barrel address, "COLTS/PATENT" (double stamped) on the left frame side, and "36 CAL" on the left trigger guard shoulder. The restamped cylinder has the navy scene with "COLTS PATENT" next to the numbers "6725 4228". Barrel, frame, trigger guard and back strap are matching with an un-numbered loading lever. The wedge and cylinder pin are also numbered to the gun. Fitted with a smooth varnished grip.

Condition: Very good. The revolver has a mottled brown patina with traces of bright original high polish blue finish remaining in the protected areas of the barrel. There is some scattered mild pitting. Most of the cylinder scene remains. The grip straps have an untouched aged brass patina with embossed "19" and "/" labels added to the butt. The period revarnished grip is fine with most of the varnish remaining and some scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
