English-made double barrel shotgun imported by the Winchester Repeating Arms Co., and sold under the Winchester name between 1879 and 1884, with less than 10000 total believed to have been imported. This is a 'Class C', middle-grade shot gun and features delicate English scroll engraving on the bottom of the receiver, lock plates, hammers, lever, trigger guard and buttplate heel. The Damascus barrels have a center rib with brass bead front sight. The center rib is marked: "WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS Co. (CLASS C) NEW HAVEN. CT." in a single line. "WINCHESTER/CLASS C" is engraved on the sides of the lock plates. The serial number "1511" is located on the trigger guard finial. British proof marks are stamped on the inside of the receiver. The shotgun has a well-figured, English walnut, stock and forearm. The stock and forearm are checkered with double-line borders. The stock has a smooth steel buttplate.

The stock has a number of minor dents and scratches. This is a scarce example of a Winchester Class C Double Barrel Shotgun.
