Manufactured in 1853, the first year of production for London Model 1851 Navy Revolvers. This example had silver plated brass grip straps. The left side of the barrel lug is stamped with two British proofs and the proofs alternate on the rear of the cylinder between the chambers. The top barrel flat is stamped with the one line London address, "COLT'S/PATENT" stamped on the left side of the frame, and the cylinder has a legible "269" (only marking visible on the cylinder). Un-numbered wedge with remaining numbers matching. Fitted with a smooth one piece grip.

Condition: Good. The revolver has a mottled gray patina with some pin point pitting. A protective coating has been applied to the brass and embossed "21" and "/" labels added to the butt. The grip is also good with a small chip missing near the bottom and some scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically functions, but cylinder is slightly loose.
