This is a very nice example of an early 1935 production Luger as manufactured by the Mauser factory with the blued and straw colored small parts. Although a standard production model, these are difficult to find in original condition as they saw considerable use during the war years. The top of the chamber has the large letter 'G' which indicated that this pistol was produced in 1935, the second year for the use of the secret letter codes intended to disguise the rearmament by the Nazis. Has correct 'S/42' Mauser code front toggle marking. Right side of barrel extension has early "eagle/63'' Waffenamt proofs, next to the single eagle firing proof which is also stamped on the right side of the barrel and the right side of the breechblock. Standard "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" on the upper safety area and extractor, respectively. Standard checkered walnut grips and one all blued unmarked magazine with an aluminum base that is stamped '6202/t' with the single eagle 63 Waffenamt proof. Complete with an early, correctly dated WWII Luger black leather holster. The holster is clearly marked on the back side, 'C.HEIMCHEN/DRESDN' next to an eagle WaA142 waffenamt /1935.
BBL: 4 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 9 mm Luger
Finish: blue/straw color
Grips: walnut checkered
Serial Number: 6595e
Condition: Fine with 60% of the faded original blued finish remaining with some loss at the muzzle and on the edges with thinning and browning on the grip straps. The various small parts retain half of their original straw colors. The grips are in very good condition with nice checkering on both sides with just light wear across the tops of the diamonds, with a few flat spots on the right side. The side plate has been arsenal refinished as it has more of a matte blue look, but it still matches the pistol. The holster is very good plus condition, with a nice even black color overall and couple minor age cracks on flap, showing the usual scuff and rubbing marks, and scratches, with tight stitching overall with no rips or tears. Has all matching numbers except the magazine. A solid representative example of an early 1935 production Luger rig that is complete with an original 1935 dated Luger holster.
