The included factory letter confirms the serial number, caliber, barrel length, finish and checkered grips. The revolver was shipped on January 8, 1926 to Cline & Cline Company, Los Angeles, California, as part of a 15 gun shipment. The cylinder is chambered for a 45 ACP not a 45 Colt even though the barrel is marked for a 45 Colt. It will not chamber a 45 Long Colt. The top of the barrel has the two line Hartford address/patent date marking and the left side of the barrel is marked "NEW SERVICE 45 COLT." A rampant colt is stamped behind the cylinder latch. This example has a lanyard ring on the butt and factory checkered grips with Colt medallions.
