This is an example of a modified Baker 1841 flintlock rifle. The barrel has been shortened to it's current length of 30 1/2". The left rear of the barrel is marked with two Birmingham proofmarks flanking "RW". There is an unrecognizable marking on the lock ahead of the hammer. Brass mountings with a sling swivel on the front of the trigger guard and replacement iron ramrod. The patch box area has been filled with wood in what appears to be an arsenal modification.
